Dr. Virginia Mattson is a highly respected Associate Dentist and the owner of Virginia Mattson, DMD. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Centro Escolar University in Manila, Philippines, before relocating to establish her solo dental practice in 1996. Inspired by her mother, who was also a dentist, Dr. Mattson admired the balance her mother had between a fulfilling career and time for family, a lifestyle she was drawn to when choosing her own profession.
From the moment Dr. Mattson realized how much she enjoyed coming to work each day and playing a crucial role in her patients’ health, she knew she was in the right profession. Her passion for dentistry is evident in her commitment to her patients and her dedication to the profession. She is currently the President-Elect of the San Diego County Dental Society for 2024 and will serve as President in 2025. Additionally, she is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, the International College of Oral Implantologists, and the California Implant Institute. As an active member of the California Dental Association and the American Dental Association, Dr. Mattson is deeply involved in giving back to the community and advocating for the profession.
Outside of the office, Dr. Mattson enjoys an active lifestyle with her husband, Steve Mattson, a native of Billings, Montana. They have two grown children, David and Moorea, and are proud grandparents to Moorea’s husband, Ramon Colon. A lover of the outdoors, Dr. Mattson completed the 107-mile Tour du Mont Blanc, a challenging 10-day hike through France, Italy, and Switzerland, with her husband. The couple also enjoys spending time with their beloved chocolate Labrador, Moose.
Dr. Daniel Bonanno is a dedicated dentist at Anchor Dental, bringing a deep passion for oral health and patient care to the San Diego community. Originally from Stockton, California, Dr. Bonanno earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Master of Science in Physical Chemistry from the University of the Pacific. He later achieved his Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree at Roseman University College of Dental Medicine in Utah.
Inspired by his childhood dentist, who skillfully balanced a rewarding career with time for family and hobbies, Dr. Bonanno began his journey in dentistry as a sterilization technician and assistant. He discovered his true calling in dental school, where he thrived as both a practitioner and educator, sharing the importance of oral health with his patients. Today, he is most passionate about oral surgery and integrating dental technology to enhance patient care, though he enjoys the broad scope of general dentistry for the opportunity to guide patients through every step of their journey to healthier smiles.
Dr. Bonanno is an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA), California Dental Association (CDA), San Diego Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). He values continuing education and has even contributed to ADA legislative resolutions on diversity and legal education for dentists.
Outside of the office, Dr. Bonanno leads an active lifestyle with his wife and their six-month-old son. Together, they enjoy hiking, backpacking, snowboarding, and diving. An avid athlete, Dr. Bonanno has completed two Ironman triathlons and four marathons, and he continues to find balance and inspiration in outdoor adventures.
Cel Trinidad was born and raised in the Philippines, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness and a Master’s in Business Administration. With a strong background in management, she began her career in the dental field in 2000, working in a front office role. Her extensive managerial experience and passion for customer service eventually led her to pursue opportunities in the United States, where she could apply her skills more broadly. Cel relocated to the U.S. to be closer to her family and is proud to be part of the team at David Bonanno, DMD.
Cel is deeply passionate about helping patients navigate the often complex world of dental insurance and financial options. She finds great satisfaction in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that patients feel valued and respected. For her, working in the dental industry is about more than administrative tasks—it’s about helping patients understand their insurance coverage, manage payment plans, and feel at ease about treatment costs. She takes pride in working alongside what she calls “the best dental team,” all united in their mission to provide top-tier care for their patients.
From the moment patients walk through the door, Cel is committed to creating a positive experience. She believes that clear communication and personalized support are essential in making patients feel welcome and reducing the stress of financial decisions so they can focus on their dental health.
Outside of work, Cel enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, exploring new places, hiking local trails, and indulging in her love for reading and cooking.
Debbie Martin was raised in Dayton, Ohio, by her adoptive parents and spent her childhood as an only child, living next door to her cousins. Surrounded by boys, she embraced her “tomboy” nature, which fostered a lifelong love of sports and competition. After marrying, Debbie and her husband relocated to Southern California, where they have since made their home.
Debbie’s passion for dentistry began in high school when she participated in a unique dental program that alternated two weeks of school with two weeks working in a dental office year-round. This early hands-on experience ignited her love for the dental industry, which has endured for over forty years. Even today, she remains as passionate about dentistry as she was when she first started, loving the dynamic and impactful nature of her work.
Outside of the office, Debbie’s love of sports continues to thrive. Whether it’s baseball, football, or hockey, you’ll find her enthusiastically watching the games, both for fun and competitive spirit. Debbie’s dedication and enthusiasm for both her profession and her interests make her a valued member of the David Bonanno, DMD team.
Lowella is a skilled dental hygienist at David Bonanno, DMD, with roots in the Philippines. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Centro Escolar University in Manila in 1990. After living in the Bay Area, Lowella and her husband relocated to San Diego in 2007, a move they’ve been happy with ever since.
Lowella is passionate about dentistry because of the immediate and positive impact she can make on her patients’ lives. Helping people smile and feel better gives her a deep sense of fulfillment, and she considers their appreciation and gratitude to be the greatest reward for her efforts.
Outside of her professional life, Lowella enjoys spending time with her husband, Philipp, and stays connected with family members in Michigan and the Philippines. Despite the distance, she values the strong bonds that keep her close to her loved ones.
Rossanna Villaseca, known affectionately as “Maro” to her family and friends, is a dedicated Registered Dental Assistant at David Bonanno, DMD. Born and raised in Imus, Cavite, Philippines, Rossanna has always had a fascination with smiles and teeth, a passion that led her to pursue a degree in Dentistry. She graduated in 1991 and practiced as a civilian dentist with the Philippine Navy before migrating to the U.S. in 2004, following her family from Guam to San Diego.
Rossanna became a Registered Dental Assistant in 2011 and now brings over 30 years of experience in the dental field to her role. Her favorite part of her work is helping patients regain their confidence and improve their oral health, finding immense gratification in the transformative power of a healthy smile.
Outside of her career, Rossanna enjoys an active lifestyle with her husband of 24 years. While she doesn’t have children, she treasures her nephew, niece, and especially her grandniece, who lives with them and whom she treats like her own. In her free time, she enjoys biking, hiking, working out at the gym, and spending quality time with her family watching movies and TV series.
Annafy is a dedicated dental assistant at the office of Dr. David Bonanno and Dr. Mattson, bringing nearly three decades of experience to her role. She began her journey in the dental field at just 18 years old, driven by a passion for helping patients feel at ease during their visits. Annafy’s warm demeanor and commitment to maintaining her patients’ healthy smiles have made her an invaluable part of the team.
Annafy finds fulfillment in creating a comfortable and reassuring environment for patients, especially those who may feel apprehensive about dental care. Seeing her patients leave with beautiful, pain-free smiles is what inspires her every day.
Outside of work, Annafy is a proud single mother to two wonderful children. She is known for her kind and approachable nature, a contagious smile, and her love for connecting with others. In her free time, Annafy cherishes moments spent with family and friends, embracing life’s joys with a positive outlook.
Darla is a seasoned registered dental assistant at Anchor Dental, where she has been a valued team member for 25 years. Born and raised in San Diego, Darla pursued her dental education at Concord after attending community college, setting the stage for her long and fulfilling career in dentistry.
Although her original goal was to become a dental hygienist, life’s priorities—raising a family and creating a home—led her to discover her passion for assisting. Darla takes pride in forming personal connections with patients and finds joy in contributing to their care and comfort. Her dedication to making every visit a positive experience has earned her the trust and appreciation of countless patients over the years.
Outside of the office, Darla treasures time spent with her husband, son, daughter, and their beloved dogs. Whether enjoying live music, camping trips, or relaxing near the water, Darla embraces life’s adventures with her family by her side.
Steve Mattson is a skilled dental hygienist at Anchor Dental & Implant Center, bringing a wealth of experience since joining the team. Originally from Montana, Steve earned a degree in Business Management from Montana State University before later pursuing his passion for dental care, graduating from Southwestern College in San Diego, California, with a degree in Dental Hygiene. Outside the office, Steve enjoys fishing, hiking, jogging, and tackling DIY projects inspired by his weekend visits to Home Depot.
