When you request an appointment, submit a form on this website, or contact the practice, we may collect:

You do not need to give us any of this to browse the website — only to contact us or request an appointment.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, this site and the services that support it may record technical information automatically, such as your IP address, browser type and version, device type, the pages you view, and the date and time of your visit. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block cookies from Google, the embedded map may not display; our address and a link to directions appear on every page.

How we use your information

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the categories described in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

We share information only in these circumstances:

• Service providers. Companies that run systems on our behalf — for example our practice management software, our appointment scheduling and messaging platform, and our website hosting. They may use the information only to provide those services to us.
• Treatment, payment and health care operations. As permitted by HIPAA, including with other providers involved in your care and with your dental insurer.
• Legal requirements. Where we are required to by law, by court order, or by a regulatory or public health authority.

Protected health information

Information about your dental health, your treatment and payment for your care is Protected Health Information under HIPAA. It is handled in accordance with HIPAA and with our Notice of Privacy Practices, which is available at the practice on request. Where this Privacy Policy and our Notice of Privacy Practices differ in respect of Protected Health Information, the Notice of Privacy Practices governs.

Please do not include detailed health information in a website form or a text message. Call us to discuss anything clinical.

Your choices and rights

Text messages

If you have opted in to text messages, you can stop them at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for help, or call us at (858) 221-6713. Marketing email

You can unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email, or by calling the practice.

California residents

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it; to request a copy of it; to request that we correct or delete it; and not to be treated differently for exercising these rights. Medical information governed by HIPAA and by the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act is exempt from these provisions. Data security and retention

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards intended to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep personal information for as long as it is needed for the purposes set out in this policy, and for as long as dental and business records must be retained under California law and our professional obligations.

Children’s privacy

We treat children as patients, and we collect their information from a parent or guardian in that context. This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online from a child under 13 without a parent’s consent. If you believe a child has given us information through this website, call us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed, and any material change will be posted here.
